SpeakGym Privacy Policy

SpeakGym provides educational language-learning tools, including lessons, speaking practice, pronunciation feedback, reminders, subscriptions, and support services.

Depending on how you use SpeakGym, we may collect:

• Account information, such as your name, email address, sign-in method, language preferences, lesson settings, and profile data.
• User content, such as speaking practice recordings, lesson responses, pronunciation attempts, and support messages you send.
• Subscription and billing status, such as trial status, plan, entitlement status, and purchase or restore events. Payment card details are handled by Apple or Google and are not stored by SpeakGym.
• Device and app data, such as app version, platform, crash logs, diagnostics, approximate usage events, and notification preferences.
• Authentication data from sign-in providers such as Apple or Google when you choose those methods.

We use personal information to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Deliver lessons, speaking practice, and educational progress tracking.
• Record, store, and analyze your spoken responses so we can provide pronunciation scoring, transcripts, and AI-assisted feedback.
• Send local practice reminders if you enable notifications.
• Process subscriptions, restore purchases, and manage access to paid features.
• Respond to support requests, troubleshoot bugs, and improve app performance.
• Measure product usage, detect abuse, and maintain the security and reliability of SpeakGym.

SpeakGym requests microphone access so you can complete speaking exercises and record pronunciation attempts. Microphone access is used only when you actively choose to record in the app.

When you record a speaking exercise, your audio may be stored and processed so we can:

• play back your attempt inside the app,
• save your lesson progress,
• generate transcripts and pronunciation analysis, and
• provide educational corrections or AI-assisted feedback.

We do not collect microphone audio in the background. If you do not want SpeakGym to access your microphone, you can deny or revoke that permission in your device settings, but speaking features will not work.

If you enable notifications, SpeakGym may schedule local reminders on your device to encourage practice. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app or in your device settings.

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate SpeakGym, including providers for hosting, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, subscriptions, customer support delivery, and speech or AI-powered feedback.

These providers may include services such as Supabase, Apple, Google, RevenueCat, PostHog, Sentry, and speech-processing or AI vendors used to deliver pronunciation features. They receive only the information reasonably needed to perform services for SpeakGym.

We may also disclose information when necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, prevent fraud, or protect users, SpeakGym, or the public.

We keep information for as long as needed to provide SpeakGym, maintain educational records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Retention may vary by data type. For example, account data, subscription state, lesson history, and recordings may remain associated with your account until you delete them or close your account, unless a longer retention period is required by law or for legitimate security or operational reasons.

• You can update certain profile details inside the app.
• You can disable notifications in the app or device settings.
• You can stop using microphone features by revoking microphone permission.
• You can delete your account from the app settings. Account deletion is intended to permanently remove your SpeakGym account data, subject to limited legal, security, backup, and fraud-prevention retention needs.

SpeakGym is designed for general audiences interested in language education and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will review the request.

SpeakGym and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. By using SpeakGym, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection rules than your home country.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information. No method of storage, transmission, or security is guaranteed to be completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the date above and provide additional notice where appropriate.
